What 9 Months Can Change
Sometimes you don't realize how far you've come until you finally stop and look behind you.
Well... it's been a minute. π
The last SickFitness Weekly went out in November.
I never planned on disappearing for nine months.
Life just got incredibly full. Somewhere between it all⦠Tuesday came and went.
Then another Tuesday.
Then another.
And somehow, here we are.
But sitting down to write this today made me realize something:
A LOT can change in nine months
So what the heck have I been doing? π
A lot.
SickFitness has grown in ways I honestly couldn't have imagined when I sent that last newsletter.
I've expanded my 1:1 coaching. I've built out my private gym here in DeLand. I've worked with more adults, families, athletes, and kids. I've continued growing my school fitness programs across Central Florida. I've built new partnerships and relationships within my community.
And somewhere in the middle of all of that, this little brand I started years ago has continued becoming something much bigger than fitness.
My mission has gotten clearer.
And I've gotten clearer about the kind of coach, and person I want to be.
But here's the interesting part...
While all of that was happening, most days didn't feel like some massive transformation.
They just felt like work.
Showing up.
Coaching.
Writing programs.
Answering messages.
Having conversations.
Helping people.
Solving problems.
Taking chances.
Trying things that didn't work.
Trying again.
Getting up the next morning and doing it all over again.
And I think that's something we forget a lot of the time...
Growth is difficult to see While You're In It
I've been coaching people for over 20 years, and I've watched this happen more times than I can count.
People quit during the part where nothing seems to be happening.
They've been training for a month and don't see the body they want yet.
They've changed their nutrition but the scale isn't moving fast enough.
They're building something and nobody seems to notice.
They're trying to become more disciplined but they're still fighting the same old habits.
They're putting themselves out there and hearing crickets.
They're praying for direction and still don't have the answer.
So they start wondering:
Is any of this actually working?
I get it.
We want evidence.
We want reassurance that the work we're putting in is taking us somewhere.
But growth doesn't always give you that.
Sometimes the only evidence you have is your willingness to show up again tomorrow.
And again the day after that.
Until one day you finally look backward instead of forward...
And realize you're standing somewhere you once prayed to be.
Just KEEP SHOWING UP!
Do This Today ππΌ
I want you to do something for me.
Stop measuring your life against yesterday for a minute.
Look back six months.
Really look.
What can you do today that was difficult six months ago?
What have you learned?
Where have you become stronger?
What habits have changed?
What did you survive?
What are you doing right now that you once hoped you'd have the opportunity to do?
We spend so much time staring at the distance left to travel that we forget to turn around and see how far we've already climbed.
And maybe you're not where you want to be yet.
Good.
KEEP CLIMBING!
But don't disrespect the work you've already done because you're not standing at the summit yet.
Now Imagine What Nine more Months can Do
This is the part I really want you to think about.
Nine months of training consistently.
Nine months of eating differently.
Nine months of walking every day.
Nine months of building your business.
Nine months of working on your marriage.
Nine months of putting your phone down and actually being present.
Nine months of reading.
Nine months of praying.
Nine months of keeping the promises you make to yourself.
Nine months of doing the work even when nobody is watching.
Nine months of refusing to quit simply because the results aren't happening fast enough.
Where could you be?
Who could you become?
Your life can look completely different by next May.
Not because nine months is some magical amount of time.
But because you can accomplish a hell of a lot when you stop constantly questioning the timeline and start stacking days.
One workout.
One meal.
One conversation.
One decision.
One uncomfortable step forward.
One day at a time.
That's how lives change.
That's how bodies change.
That's how businesses change.
That's how people change.
The SickFitness Weekly Is Back!! πͺπΌ
And I've missed this.
I've missed having a place where I can sit down every week and actually talk to you.
SO WEβRE BRINGING IT BACK. π₯
We'll talk fitness.
We'll talk nutrition.
We'll talk discipline.
We'll talk business.
We'll talk failure.
We'll talk faith.
We'll talk strength, purpose, relationships, setbacks, and everything I'm learning along the way.
I'll share things I've learned from more than two decades of coaching people.
I'll share things I'm still figuring out myself.
Because SickFitness has never just been about building a stronger body.
It's about building a stronger human being.
And if the last nine months have taught me anything, it's this:
Don't underestimate what your life can become when you keep showing up long enough to find out.
I'll see you next Thursday.
Let's get to work. πͺπΌ
